Nova and other software and patches which will also assist in the
conversion to SIMS.net. The CD should be with the EDIT team by the end
of next week and will be delivered immediately for installation by
schools. An extract of the communication from CES is available

 | PLASC 2005 - SIMS have stated that there will be
no Data Manager routine to complete PLASC 2005 for Secondary, Special
and Nursery schools. For this reason it is imperative that schools in
these sectors perform final conversion on their data before Christmas.
Primary schools are unaffected and will receive further information
later in the term. Further information here. |
 | Primary schools SIMS.net update - It is with
regret that, owing to late software releases and the need to migrate all
special, nursery and secondary schools this term, the SIMS.net pilot in
primary schools is now delayed until after PLASC 2005. Primary schools
who expressed an interest in using the new software will be contacted
later this term with more information. |
 | SIMS Accreditation - The EDIT Team is currently
undergoing a process of Accreditation by Capita ES. A major part of the
process is a survey of schools' opinions of the SIMS support
services provided by the team. This survey, which is completed on-line
and in no more than a few minutes, will give the team invaluable
information which will be used to improve services. Schools are
encouraged to take the opportunity to make their feelings known by
logging on to the Accreditation web-site before Friday 8th October. More
information has been supplied directly by e-mail to designated SIMS
users and is available
here. Please note that the survey elicits opinions on the SIMS
support provided by the EDIT team and not more general technical
support. |
