schools have now submitted a PLASC return. Any school needing support in
completing the return is urged to contact the EDIT team as soon as
possible. |
 | 30th January The first group of primary
schools are currently undergoing data checking in preparation for the
migration to SIMS.net. Primary schools should note that there will be no
release of Key Stage Manager this year and that schools wishing to use SIMS
to manage processes will need to be on SIMS.net before the end of May. |
 | 30th January The training calendar for the
rest of the term is available
here. |
 | 23rd January As was detailed in the e-mail
from Richard Metcalfe earlier this week, as Eid fell on the 20th January

on a typical day where Eid has affected the number served on the 20th
January. |

 | 8th January PLASC bug fixes. A number of
issues have come to light in the PLASC routines. In the case of primary
schools, these will require a new version of Data Manager which will be
deployed via the Rochdale Schools Network and schools will not notice
any difference. In the case of Special Schools, the required fixes will
be applied at the time of migration and no additional action is required
of schools. In the case of Secondary schools, system managers will
receive an upgrade CD which should be applied in the usual way. The
application of this CD (labelled Enhancement Release 3) will bring
schools' systems bang up to date with all the latest PLASC and other
patches. |
 | 8th January The Team is pleased to
announce that all Rochdale secondary schools are now running the new
SIMS.net suite of software. This means that the team is now free to
begin the process of migrating all other Rochdale schools. This process
will begin with Nursery and Special schools with primary schools
programmed for the remainder of the term. Schools who previously
expressed an interest in piloting the new software will be afforded
priority and will be contacted soon. The team apologises for the delay
in the deployment of SIMS.net which has been due to factors outside our
control. |
