bullet20th February What can SIMS.net do for my school? - a drop in session, aimed at making staff in schools aware of the features of SIMS.net, will be held at Rochdale CLC (Falinge Park High School) on Wednesday 2nd March. Further details available by contacting the EDIT Team.
bullet20th February Procedures for conversion of primary schools to SIMS.net have now been finalised and remaining primary and nursery schools will be contacted to invite them on a series of training sessions in due course.
bullet14th February The first group of 12 primary schools have now been converted to SIMS.net and are to attend training sessions this week. An e-mail, detailing the processes leading towards migration will be sent out to remaining schools this week
bullet14th February PLASC processes now complete. All schools have now submitted an accepted PLASC return. A big thankyou to all those schools who submitted their returns early this year and enabled the EDIT Team to focus their efforts on those schools requiring extra support.
bullet30th January The majority of Rochdale schools have now submitted a PLASC return. Any school needing support in completing the return is urged to contact the EDIT team as soon as possible.
bullet30th January The first group of primary schools are currently undergoing data checking in preparation for the migration to SIMS.net. Primary schools should note that there will be no release of Key Stage Manager this year and that schools wishing to use SIMS to manage processes will need to be on SIMS.net before the end of May.

bullet23rd January As was detailed in the e-mail from Richard Metcalfe earlier this week, as Eid fell on the 20th January this year. Schools should record the number of free school meals served on a typical day where Eid has affected the number served on the 20th January.
bullet23rd January The team is delighted to announce that all Rochdale Secondary and Special Schools are now fully migrated to SIMS.net. The team are now in a position to begin the migration of Primary schools to the new software.
bullet23rd January The PLASC bug fixes have now been applied to all primary school SIMS systems. Schools will note that they may now record more than 99 aggregate hours in the non-teacher area of the PLASC return.

bullet8th January PLASC bug fixes. A number of issues have come to light in the PLASC routines. In the case of primary schools, these will require a new version of Data Manager which will be deployed via the Rochdale Schools Network and schools will not notice any difference. In the case of Special Schools, the required fixes will be applied at the time of migration and no additional action is required of schools. In the case of Secondary schools, system managers will receive an upgrade CD which should be applied in the usual way. The application of this CD (labelled Enhancement Release 3) will bring schools' systems bang up to date with all the latest PLASC and other patches. 
bullet8th January The Team is pleased to announce that all Rochdale secondary schools are now running the new SIMS.net suite of software. This means that the team is now free to begin the process of migrating all other Rochdale schools. This process will begin with Nursery and Special schools with primary schools programmed for the remainder of the term. Schools who previously expressed an interest in piloting the new software will be afforded priority and will be contacted soon. The team apologises for the delay in the deployment of SIMS.net which has been due to factors outside our control.
bullet8th January EDIT Team Now at full strength - Following a series of successful appointments, the EDIT Team has been joined by the several new members of staff and all agency staff have been released and no longer have any association with the team - for further details see the EDIT Team Profile page.
